Cirencester Park

As you may have read it was my Mummy's Birthday recently, and as a present: Emma, Will, Finn and I arranged for her to have a polo lesson at Cirencester Park Polo Grounds. My Auntie Caroline also fancied a go and went along.

Wanting to watch Dad and I came along to and brought the boys so we could have a walk around the beautiful grounds and watch the matches in the afternoon. It turned out to be a glorious day, and both Mum and Caroline had a fantastic time and have been back since for another. This could become a rather expensive hobby, Daddy is panicking a little.

Spanish Fiestas

My Grandma lives in Spain, so over the summer my sister, mum and I decided to pop over for a visit and some sunshine. We arrived on the last night of the Fiestas, an annual tradition where everyone dresses up a devils and runs round the streets with fireworks.
It was without a doubt the most surreal thing I have ever seen. Starting with street performances and dancing to get the devil to appear, and then when he does they set the church on fire, (my grandma assured me that it was just fireworks). Then all the devils light their firework sticks (don't know what the real name for this is) and run around the square and side streets, and this continues for hours and hours.

I tried to find out about the tradition of this, but no one seemed to know. We left slightly deaf and stunned by what we had just seen. Something you probably need to see in person to have the full effect.

Cowes Week - The Finale

After Emma and Will left, I did get a little lazy with my photography. Ultimately the week was becoming a little repetitive anyway... Boats, Booze, Boats, Booze... you get the picture.
On the final night Finn's brother, his girlfriend and her family came to stay, and just in time for the last night celebrations.
We all headed down to the seafront with a massive picnic and managed to find ourselves a big enough spot on the green.
Just as we began to get stuck in, over head come the Red Arrows to do their thing. I had never seen them in person before so was all the more impressed!
It was fantastic, and such a beautiful back drop with the water and the boats underneath them.
We continued with our picnic and had some pudding and more wine enjoying the sunset.

As soon as it went dark the fireworks began...

Definitely one of the best displays I have ever seen... There is something about it been over the water that just makes it look so much more spectacular...

Of course the night again continued on into the wee hours, but Cowes Week certainly went out with a bang!!
